Mobility

Major Raceway and Casino

Business Challenge

  • As horse racing has declined in popularity the Client was seeking a way to drive revenues. Their strategy was to transform from solely a racing destination to a year round gaming entertainment destination.
  • By establishing the closest gaming establishment to a major city and metropolitan area, they needed a solution to quickly and efficiently handle the beverage and food ordering of tens of thousands of patrons daily and link it into their inventory control system.
  • They needed a reliable, redundant, scalable, and secure network infrastructure that can support a player tracking system which operates 24x7x365, tracks valuable assets, provides security consistent with State Gaming regulations, and enables quick transactions to minimize patron down time.

BlueWater Solution

  • BlueWater implemented a wireless solution built upon a Cisco infrastructure throughout the gaming facility
  • BlueWater designed and installed a Cisco switched infrastructure which connected to the wireless network, the player tracking systems, the inventory control system, the asset tracking system via RFID, and digital signage.

Added Business Value

  • This solution allows food and drink to be ordered from anywhere in the facility, and instantly wirelessly transmitted to the bar or kitchen for preparation
  • This greatly reduces the time between ordering and serving, and maximizes the time patrons can enjoy the entertainment.
  • The vast amount of time saved also effectively cuts costs and increases profits by allowing the facility and its employee's greater efficiency.
  • Digital signage and advertising throughout the gaming floor run on IP enabled devices which seamlessly connect to the Cisco infrastructure.

The solution was able to incorporate the raceway's applications on a common infrastructure, which is supported and maintained by a single IT group.
